Amal Trivedi, MD, MPH is a general internist and health services researcher who studies quality of care and health care disparities, with particular emphasis on the impact of patient and provider incentives on quality and equity of care. His research has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Health Affairs. Dr. Trivedi serves as the Graduate Program Director for Brown University's Doctoral Program in Health Services Research and practices as a hospitalist at the Providence VA Medical Center.

The California Endowment Scholars in Health Policy at Harvard University was a sister program to the Commonwealth Fund Fellowship. Beginning in 2002 and discontinued in 2011, it was a one-year, full-time, academic degree-granting program designed to create health professional leaders in the public, nonprofit, and academic sectors.
