Aurelie Tran, MD, MPH

Aurelie Tran, MD, is a general surgery resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. She brings over a decade of experience working in the homelessness space across clinical care, program design, and health systems innovation. Dr. Tran has served as a frontline provider, case manager, and leader of street outreach initiatives, and has developed and led multidisciplinary care models for individuals experiencing homelessness. She earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and served as Director of the University of Michigan Student-Run Free Clinic. Previously, she served as Youth/LGBTQ+ Clinic Director and Advocacy Taskforce Leader at the Suitcase Clinic in Berkeley, CA. Most recently, she completed her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and as a Commonwealth Fund Fellow in Health Policy Leadership. 

Her work sits at the intersection of health policy and surgical care delivery, with a focus on leveraging healthcare systems to address upstream social determinants of health. Currently, she is a post-doctorate research fellow at the Center for Surgery and Public Health. Through her clinical, policy, and research work, Dr. Tran is committed to advancing sustainable, system-level solutions to improve care for individuals experiencing homelessness.
