Julian Nieves, MD, MPH
Dr. Nieves is founder and CEO of Salud Primary Care LLC, specializing in Primary Care Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1995 and completed residency at the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program in 1998. He has over a decade of extensive inpatient and outpatient clinical experience at institutions including Yale-New Haven Hospital, Hartford Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital. His academic duties have also included serving as Clinical Instructor at the Harvard School of Medicine and Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
Dr. Nieves obtained his MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2003 and completed a fellowship at the Commonwealth Fund/Harvard University Minority Health Policy Program where he furthered his interest in the issues of health care quality outcomes, preventive care, and primary care redesign strategies. He has practiced as a primary care physician serving the Hartford community and as part of Internal Medicine Associates at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was also Medical Director for inpatient Hospitalist Services at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden, CT, and founder of the Connecticut Chapter for the Society of Hospital Medicine.
