Dr. Sriram is Director of Pediatrics at Chase Brexton Health Care in Baltimore, MD. Previously, he was an Attending Physician at Children’s National Health System and Assistant Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed his medical degree and his pediatrics residency at UCLA, where he also served as Chief Resident in the Department of Pediatrics. In June 2009, he completed the Commonwealth Fund / Harvard University Fellowship (CFHUF) in Minority Health Policy and earned his Master’s in Public Health. After finishing his fellowship, Dr. Sriram moved to Washington, DC and worked as the Director of Membership Communications and Outreach for the National Physicians Alliance (NPA). Through the NPA’s Secure Health Care for All campaign for health reform, he testified before Congress, and encouraged community-minded physicians to give voice to their patients, free from the influence of the pharmaceutical and insurance industries. Since the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Dr. Sriram has directed his efforts towards practicing general pediatrics and advocating for socially just health policies. Dr. Sriram founded the All Means All campaign at Social Security Works. He writes for the Huffington Post about the relationships between health policy, civil rights, and child health, and he hosted the “Dr. America” podcast.
